Stiftung Artenschutz is a joint initiative of german-speaking zoos and conservation organizations. We aim to preserve endangered species that have not yet been adequately supported and to protect their original habitats. The focus of the work lies in the in situ protection of species and their habitats.

Our Projects....

... aim at stabilizing numbers and /or population growth of a threatened animal species/group.
... concern species/groups whose survival is directly linked to the work of the zoos.
... promote animal species which are suitable as umbrella species and whose protection demonstrably benefits the habitats and/or other species.
... include a long-term commitment.

Working together

Stiftung Artenschutz stands for an integrative approach to nature conservation that focuses on involving the local population in the decision-making processes, planning and protected area management. The creation of perspectives, income opportunities and the strengthening of civil society are important components of our projects.

Transparency

Stiftung Artenschutz is a non-profit organisation. We stand for responsibility and transparency, which is why we have joined the Transparent Civil Society Initiative.
